Accessibility statement
This campaign website is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. This page explains what that means, what’s been checked, what isn’t there yet, and how to tell us about a problem.
Our commitment
Every page on this site is built to work with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, and at larger text sizes, not adjusted afterward to pass a test. Colour is never the only way information is shown, every image has a written description, motion respects your device’s reduce-motion setting, and every interactive element has a visible focus outline and a large enough tap target.
What’s been checked
- Automated testing against WCAG 2.2 AA (and the 2.0/2.1 rules it builds on) with axe-core, run against every page at both a desktop and a phone width.
- Every page checked with JavaScript-driven motion turned on, to catch anything that stays hidden behind an entrance animation.
- No page scrolls sideways, checked down to a 320px-wide phone.
- Every colour pairing used for text checked by hand against the AA contrast ratios, not just the automated scan.
Automated testing catches a real, well-documented slice of accessibility problems, not all of them. It’s one part of how this site was built, not the whole of it.
Known limitations
- The downloadable colouring page PDF is not tagged, so a screen reader can’t describe its content. It’s a line drawing meant for printing and colouring by hand; the same illustration is described in words, and shown as an image, on the page it’s linked from.
- This site hasn’t yet been tested with real assistive technology users, only with automated tools and manual keyboard/screen-reader checks by the people who built it.
Tell us about a problem
If any part of this site is hard to use with assistive technology, or something described here doesn’t hold up, please tell us. Email jessphillips4nelson@gmail.com, or send a message through this website. We’ll do our best to fix it and to answer within a few days.
